POGP at the Fuel Station

1.6.2023

The 28th edition of the International Fuel Station Fair, organized by the Polish Chamber of Liquid Fuels, was held in Warsaw on May 17-19, 2023. For the first time their part was a zone for the gas industry, GasTechExpo. The team and members of the Polish LPG Organization took an active part in the fair - as exhibitors and organizers of accompanying events.

About 100 exhibitors and about 4,000 visitors participate in the Fuel Station show every year. The same was true this time, although the gas industry was particularly widely represented in 2023. This is because, for the first time in the history of the Fuel Station Fair, a special zone was created for companies in the gaseous fuel industry (LPG, CNG, LNG or hydrogen). Members of the Polish LPG Organization also presented their offerings: Chemet SA, FAS Poland, GOK Regler und Armaturen, Hexagon Ragasco AS, IPS SYSTEM and Vitkovice Milmet SA.

On the second day of the Fair there was a meeting of Women in LPG Poland, organized by the Women in LPG (Women in LPG) network operating within the World LPG Association, the meeting was part of the organized efforts to activate women in the LPG industry since 2022. The meeting proved to be an excellent opportunity to share knowledge, experience and inspiration. At the Polish LPG Organization, we believe that supporting and promoting women in our market is crucial for the further development and success of the industry.

The Polish Liquid Gas Association also organized a thematic session entitled Alternative Fuels in Transportation, where Bartosz Kwiatkowski, Paweł Baranowski, Bartosz Czubała and Maciej Prośniewski spoke about the prospects of LPG in transportation.

Bartosz Kwiatkowski, CEO of POGP, presented the prospects for regulations from the Fit for 55 package that await the automotive industry in the near future - in particular, the inclusion of road transport in the emissions trading scheme, the enacted ban on the introduction of internal combustion engine passenger cars on the market after 2035 and the Euro 7 standard. Paweł Baranowski, marketing manager at the Renault Group, talked about the role that autogas-powered cars play in the Dacia brand strategy and the great popularity of this underrated fuel. Bartosz Czubala, commercial director of Prins Autogas, colorfully presented the price and environmental advantages of LPG in transportation. Presentations by the car manufacturer and autogas installations estimated the operating costs of autogas-powered cars at 60% of the cost of driving on gasoline. Maciej Prośniewski, director of Gazeo.pl, posited a thesis about the renaissance of LPG in Europe. Facing an energy crisis in 2022, sales of autogas-powered vehicles in Europe grew at double-digit rates, with Italy and France emerging as growth leaders. Also contributing to last year's success of autogas in Europe were local regulations on clean transportation zones, which in Western Europe treat gas propulsion as low-emission.

As every year, we thank the organizers for the excellent atmosphere and the opportunity to exhibit our companies' offerings.
