Successes of POGP members in November

7.12.2021

The year 2021 was a very fruitful year for POGP members. As the year draws to a close, the first summaries and awards are emerging.

On November 25, the Polish-French Business Gala was held at the Polish Embassy in Paris under the patronage of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Zbigniew Rau and the Minister of Development and Technology Piotr Nowak. Partners of the event were the Polish Chamber of Commerce and Industry in France and the French employers' organization Medef.

During the Gala, statuettes were handed out, awarding entrepreneurs in three categories. In the category of Polish exporter to France, it was won by Grupa Azoty, in the category of French investor in Poland - Stellantis, the group formed after the merger of Fiat and French PSA, but we are most pleased with the third category.

Polish LPG Organization member Chemet SA was awarded in the category of Polish investor in France. The award was given for its investment in the French company GLI SAS. The company's history proves that it is possible to build an international industrial group in Poland. The company has existed since 1945 and was able to find its way in world markets during the difficult period of political transformation. It underwent successful restructuring, was privatized in 2002, and in 2020 acquired the assets of French competitor GLI SAS. The transaction crowned the company's full internationalization process, which was recognized by the award chapter.

Meanwhile, the European Business Forum was held in Katowice on November 30 . This year's series of debates was held under the motto: "Economy, entrepreneurship, society in the post-covid reality". Among the partners and honorary patrons of the event were: European Parliament, National Center for Research and Development, Polish Agency for Enterprise Development, Polish Committee for Standardization and Cracow University of Economics. In the course of the evening gala, the winners of the 15th edition of the Highest Quality International program were announced.

Among the winners was our member AmeriGas Poland , awarded for its Integrated Quality Management System in the QI ORDED category - top quality management. As one of the leaders in the implementation of the ISO standard in the hydrocarbon market in Poland, AmeriGas represented the liquefied petroleum gas industry at the Katowice Gala. The award for our member is proof of the importance our industry places on quality standards.
